We’re delighted to welcome The South Shore Men of Harmony back to the Thayer Public Library Concert Series on Saturday, November 18, 3-4 pm.

South Shore Men of Harmony are the Scituate Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the worldwide association of barbershop music aficionados. The chapter is a part of the Society’s Northeastern District which is comprised of 67 chapters with over 2700 members. South Shore Men of Harmony have been delighting audiences continuously since 1949.

Barbershop music, like jazz, is a distinctly American music style or heritage. To some degree, it really did get started in barbershops where men waiting for haircuts would harmonize to the old songs. South Shore Men of Harmony traditionally sponsors an annual show that features the chorus, chapter quartets, and a top district or international quartet. Throughout the year the chapter chorus and senior chorus perform for public, private audiences and charitable functions.

We’re looking forward the return of South Shore Men of Harmony to the Thayer Public Library Concert Series.
